BarFlirt vs. Competition: Why BarFlirt Was Created and Why We Do Many Things Differently

Anyone looking to meet someone today as a single person is spoiled for choice. Dating apps, speed dating, singles parties, hiking groups, leisure platforms, and countless online portals compete for attention.

When we founded BarFlirt, we asked ourselves a simple question:

Why do so many singles still feel lonely despite all these opportunities?

After many conversations with singles, it quickly became clear: most people are tired of endless chatting, swiping left and right, and superficial encounters. They want to meet real people again. But in a relaxed atmosphere, without a lot of programming, entertainment, and pressure. And many have also explicitly mentioned that they don't feel comfortable at events with over 100 people. They prefer to find a quiet corner and leave early.

So, what's the difference between BarFlirt and the competition in Switzerland? Let's look at the competition:

Dating Apps (Tinder, Bumble & Co.): Lots of Matches, Few Real Dates

Dating apps undoubtedly have their place. They are convenient and allow you to meet new people anytime (for example, while watching Netflix, on your commute to work, or even when you're out with colleagues).

At the same time, many participants keep telling us the same story:

You text each other for days. Then maybe a few more messages follow. And at some point, everything just fades away.

Or you finally meet and realize after a few minutes that the chemistry just isn't right.

It's different at BarFlirt. Here, you sit directly across from people. You hear the laughter, feel the aura, and often realize within a few minutes if there's mutual attraction.

Because in the end, the perfect profile picture rarely decides, but almost always the personal encounter does.

While dating apps are often primarily about sex or a relationship, BarFlirt frequently creates a very different dynamic. In addition to flirts and potential partnerships, new friendships often develop. After all, you spend an evening with people who are often in a similar life situation. Be it as a single person while many friends already have families, or because you are new in town and want to make new contacts. Thus, BarFlirt not only leads to dates but often also to valuable everyday acquaintances. ❤️🍸

Speed dating: Exciting, but often a bit hectic, quick in and quick out

Speed dating has been popular for many decades. You get to meet many people in a short amount of time.

The downside: Often, only a few minutes per person remain. As soon as an interesting conversation begins, the signal for the switch sounds. Many singles tell us that it feels more like a job interview. In, out, next please!

At BarFlirt, we consciously avoid this time pressure. With us, you spend the evening with a small group of singles your age. Conversations develop naturally and proceed without a stopwatch or a buzzer. And if there ever is a speed dating session, it's always followed by a relaxed party so you can spend time together and not have everyone leave immediately.

Single Parties: Lots of People, Little Contact

Single parties and large events can be great, especially for open-minded and outgoing people.

However, many singles also know the flip side: you stand around with your drink in hand, waiting to be approached. Or you stick with the people you already know all evening. Or even worse, you're approached by a new guy every 2-3 minutes until you just want to flee.

The larger the event becomes, the more difficult and/or superficial the initial contact often becomes.

That's why, at our classic BarFlirt events, we consciously focus on smaller groups of 12 to 20 singles. Large enough for exciting encounters, but small enough for everyone to get to know each other.

Leisure platforms and hiking groups

Platforms like Meet5 or Spontacts offer interesting leisure activities and enable new acquaintances.

However, the focus is usually on shared activities rather than getting to know potential partners.

That's absolutely legitimate.

However, those who are specifically looking for a partner often wish for an environment where everyone is participating with the same intention. It's not about being that one awkward person who suddenly starts flirting and gets weird looks from everyone. And in the end, the other person isn't even single.

At BarFlirt, everyone knows from the start why the others are there and that everyone is single. That makes a lot of things soooo much easier.

What makes BarFlirt different

Naturally, there are no guarantees in love.

But there are some things we consciously do differently:

❤️ Small groups with women and men

Age groups that really fit together

Stylish Bars and Lounges

No time pressure during conversations

❤️ No awkward introductions

❤️ Post-Event Matching System

Real people instead of profile pictures

❤️ Animal Lovers and Tips in Advance as Icebreakers

The atmosphere is particularly important to us. Many participants say after their first event:

„It didn't feel like dating at all.“

And that is often the nicest compliment.

Our goal

BarFlirt is not intended to be another dating service.

We want to create a place where people can easily meet new people, in a relaxed and fun way! With a drink in hand, good conversations, and a casual atmosphere.

Sometimes a friendship develops from this.

Sometimes a date.

Sometimes even a relationship.

And sometimes just a beautiful evening.

For us, this is already a success.

Perhaps we'll see each other soon at a BarFlirt event. We would be very happy. Cocktail heart
